Having worked in the Laboratory and in Competitive Intelligence for years,

I chose to leave "industry" to help students fall in love with

(or at least, be intrigued by)

math and science.

My sons loved math and science but

they felt that something was missing in their classes--the "Why" of it all.

The wondering-of-the-"Why" inspired me to approach 

Education Consulting in a different way.

 

 I focus on Skills and Strategy with Science content.

My teaching objective is to help students bring pieces of

information together

(the math and the science)

to find a "story".

As the story evolves, it becomes easier to understand

why and how

the concept works together.

The student then designs their strategy to solve the problems!

This approach is similar to what a scientist does in the laboratory.

(Or what all of us do every day for general problem-solving.)

​

The foundation of my teaching style is to use Color

when introducing the skills and content.

I have found that if I use contrasting colors on a white background,

my students will remember our tutoring session for literally months/years. True!
